Intel's upcoming Arrow Lake-S desktop CPUs will feature the Core Ultra 3 205, a new entry-level processor that will likely be a non-K configuration. This move confirms Intel's plan to replace the Core i3 lineup with the Core Ultra 3 series, which promises to deliver notable performance improvements. The Core Ultra 3 205 has been spotted in leaked spec sheets for the Arrow Lake-S series, and it appears that it will be the only model in the series, positioning it for the lower-end of the market.
The Core Ultra 3 205 is expected to come with an eight-core setup, with a likely configuration of four P-Cores and four E-Cores. The processor is said to have a base clock of 3.9 GHz and can reach up to 4.8 GHz in P-Core boost. While details about the integrated graphics are still unknown, it’s expected to have a decent improvement over previous generations. This particular Core Ultra 3 variant is anticipated to offer stiff competition to older CPUs like the Core i3 14100/F, using the newer Lion Cove P-Cores and Skymont E-Cores architectures. It's predicted to potentially debut around Q1 2025, possibly at CES 2025.
