Perplexity has launched Perplexity Labs, a new AI-powered tool designed to assist Pro subscribers in creating a range of work deliverables. The startup, known for its AI-powered search engine that competes with Google, is expanding beyond simple search to provide users with the ability to generate reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and even simple web applications. Labs is intended for complex projects requiring sustained effort, differentiating itself from Perplexity's core search engine and Deep Research mode, which provide quick answers and in-depth analysis, respectively.
Labs offers key capabilities such as generating and executing code for data structuring, creating interactive web apps within the platform, and producing various file types like charts, images, and spreadsheets.
