OpenAI is reportedly finalizing an agreement to acquire Windsurf, an AI-powered developer platform formerly known as Codeium, for approximately $3 billion. This marks OpenAI's largest acquisition to date, signaling a significant move to strengthen its position in the competitive AI tools market for software developers. The deal, which has been rumored for weeks, is anticipated to enhance OpenAI's coding AI capabilities and reflects the increasing importance of AI-powered tools in the software development industry.
