Zoom is enhancing its AI Companion with agentic capabilities, marking a significant evolution from a basic personal assistant to a proactive task manager. The company is introducing a suite of new AI skills, including managing calendars, generating video clips, and providing advanced writing assistance. These enhancements aim to transform meetings from simple communication events into action-oriented workflows, allowing AI to take complex actions and orchestrate task execution.

Zoom's AI Companion will also become an open platform, capable of interacting with third-party agents like ServiceNow AI agents, and enabling users to create custom agents tailored to their specific needs. Customization options will include creating industry-specific dictionaries, incorporating data from third-party applications, and utilizing AI Studio to expand its knowledge. This customizable AI Companion add-on, expected to roll out in April, will leverage AI small language models (SLMs) alongside large language models to provide accurate and cost-effective solutions for multi-agent collaboration.
